Lacedons are the aquatic cousins of the common ghoul, haunting sunless depths, shipwrecks, and jagged reefs. Unlike their land-bound kin, they have developed a terrifying efficiency in the water, acting as the scourge of sailors and coastal villages by dragging victims beneath the waves to drown. They are defined by the same unquenchable hunger for flesh that drives all ghoulkind, though they specifically favor the cold, brine-soaked carrion of the deep.

They retain the signature paralyzing touch of the ghoul, which is especially lethal in the water as a frozen victim is unable to struggle against the currents. They possess increased Strength and very good Dexterity to navigate the crushing pressure of the tides, balanced by a lower Intelligence due to their feral, predatory nature. While they lack a complex society, they are often found in packs near busy shipping lanes, waiting for the sea to provide their next meal.
