The Ikelek lizardfolk live in swamps, river deltas, and mangroves of the coasts of the Mwangi Expanse. They are pragmatic beings that organize themselves into clans. They are collectivists who believe survival, territory, and the welfare of the clutch come first. They are usually lead by a hunter or a seasoned elder.

Their religion is animistic; they revere river spirits, ancestors, and have deep respect for natural cycles. They have rituals for hunts, floods, and when eggs are laid.

They are weary of outsiders but not inherently hostile. They may trade fish, hides, or river guidance in exchange for metal tools and salt. Their culture values patience, reciprocity, and strength proven through action rather than words.

Ikelek lizardfolk are tall and measure around 2m to 2.4m in height. They are reptilians with long tails and mottled green-brown scales; eyes often amber or copper. Adapted for swimming and moving silently through reeds and mud. Their physical characteristics makes them excellent swimmers and trackers.
