APPARITION

Apparitions are fleeting, spectral echoes of the deceased, often created by a death so sudden or traumatic that a psychic imprint is burned into the local environment. Unlike ghosts, which may possess complex motivations, an apparition is frequently a “looping” entity—a semi-intelligent remnant that endlessly repeats its final moments or a specific, significant action. They are typically bound to a single room or object, appearing as a shimmering, faded image that vanishes when approached or directly addressed.

These spirits are incorporeal and highly elusive, possessing higher Dexterity and Charisma, though their lack of a physical body results in lower Strength and Constitution. While they are rarely capable of sustained physical combat, their sudden, silent appearances can inflict profound psychological dread. They are most frequently encountered in locations where the veil between the material and spiritual planes has grown dangerously thin, serving as silent witnesses to past tragedies.
