Kellid

The Kellids are a human ethnic group who dwell in the cold, harsh northern regions of Avistan; they are characterised by their lean physique, dark hair, and hardy endurance born of struggle in tundra and mountains. Rather than sophisticated urban societies, Kellid culture is tribal, oral (they seldom write down their history), and places high value on strength, bravery, cunning and survival over book-learning or refinement. They are distrustful of magic due in part to past suffering at the hands of demons and witches, and their faith tends toward war-gods, animism and nature-spirits.
