House Drow introduce themselves by their given name and their House name (e.g. “Lyzandra of House Azrinae”). The House name is their shield and their status. Losing their house name makes them an outcast. |
House Drow or Noble Drow belong to the matriarchal Great Houses. They are the true masters of the Darklands, claiming direct descent from the original elves who first turned to demon worship. They are absolute rulers and can kill a Cavern Drow for a minor insult with zero legal repercussions. House Drow are matrilineal and the women of the House are the clerics and rulers while the men are the wizards and weapon masters.
While all Drow share basic attributes, the House Drow are often more physically perfect and “unearthly” than common Drow, frequently bearing silver jewelry or magical tattoos that signify their House.
